After almost 2 years of riding with my Tiem Athletic Cycling Shoes, it was time to try something else. Honestly, the timing couldn't have been more perfect for Nike to drop their Superreps. Now, here's why I'm really digging them:
When I first started cycling, I used a cycling shoe VERY similar to the Nike Superreps, but they were much harder in the sole (which I wasn't super crazy about). The soles on the Superreps are flexible and I have to be honest and say that they really made me WORK. It was definitely a different ride. I think it's because the sole is completely flat so all my weight was being supported by the balls of my feet...THAT BURNED MY QUADS SO BAD. The only thing that I wasn't fond of, was how tricky it was to attach the cleats. Once I figured it out, it was fine, lol!
Now Tiem's are much wider shoe, and not only are they wider, but the have a tough rubber sole that surrounds the cleat. That rubber sole almost grips to the rest of the pedal, making it feel much more supported when you ride, almost like you're riding on a bigger platform (if that makes sense).
Now don't get me wrong, I still LOVE my Tiems and will most definitely continue using them, but it was really cool to experience an intensity that I hadn't felt in a while!
